My Statement as Artist

The inspiration for my art has evolved over the years. Lately, with time in short supply, the challenge is finding a medium that can be flexible and portable, as well as appealing.
The images in my works are based on reality with a healthy dose of abstraction. My best sources are ala plein aire. Natural light seems to be the best representation of color, even though my work is often somewhat abstract. My camera serves as a good backup as reference material.
My skills are mostly self taught, with some input from various sketching and painting classes. Not very formal, but it has been fun.
I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as I did creating them!
